Mary Jane Erard is an award-winning artist painting in soft pastel, oil pastel, gouache and oil. Her works are usually rural landscapes of the mid-western US and Europe. In the past 10 years Mary Jane's paintings have been accepted in over 55 juried exhibitions and have won over 35 awards. She has also exhibited in over 11 national and international solo shows. Mary Jane's artwork has been published several times in national magazines and books, including the art book "Best of America - Pastel Artists II" published by Kennedy Publishing, which is now on the market (to purchase, see below). She is also a juried member of the Pastel Society of America and a juired member of the Degas Pastel Society. Artist's Statement

My works are pastel paintings on dark textured paper or sanded board. I employ a dark to light technique. My special strengths are a smart use of color and composition that gives the viewer a sense of movement in the painting. My subject matter is mostly landscape and floral motifs.
