Mary Jane Erard

Mary Jane Erard is an award-winning artist painting in soft pastel, oil pastel, gouache and oil. Her works are usually rural landscapes of the mid-western US and Europe. In the past 10 years Mary Jane's paintings have been accepted in over 55 juried exhibitions and have won over 35 awards. She has also exhibited in over 11 national and international solo shows. Mary Jane's artwork has been published several times in national magazines and books, including the art book "Best of America - Pastel Artists II" published by Kennedy Publishing, which is now on the market (to purchase, see press page). Artists' Statement:
My works are pastel paintings on dark textured paper or sanded board. I employ a dark to light technique. My special strengths are a smart use of color and composition that gives the viewer a sense of movement in the painting. My subject matter is mostly landscape and floral motifs.

Commissions:
I am happy to accept commissions and will work from good quality photographs or digital images. If you have an image which you would like me to consider please feel free to call me 419.389.0385 or email me at mj_landscapesinpastel.com
Pricing for commission work includes mat and frame (special requests on matting and frame style will be considered).
My prices are determined by the size and complexity of the painting and prices range from $400.00 up to approximately $2,000.00 for the largest and most complex framed pieces; the average price for a mid-size framed painting is $500.00 to $900.00. Affordable shipping and packaging charges will be discussed with buyer.
Framing:
All my work is professionally framed using high quality products including TruVue Conservation Clear® UV glass, or TruVue Reflection Control® glass and acid free mat and backboard.
Shipping:
All work is packaged and shipped by UPS. Paintings may also be picked up or hand delivered, if you live locally.
A flat rate for packaging and shipping, not to exceed the actual UPS cost, will be charged for shipment.
